Model Context Protocol (MCP)

An open standard that lets AI models connect to external tools and data sources through a common interface.

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) standardizes how an AI application exposes tools, resources, and data to a model, so any compliant model can use any compliant server without bespoke integration.

As MCP adoption grows, each connection becomes a new pathway for data access and action - which is why governing MCP traffic with an approved registry, scoped credentials, and adjudicated calls matters.
