Least Privilege

Granting an AI agent only the minimum access it needs for a task, so a compromise or mistake has limited reach.

The principle of least privilege gives each agent, tool, or credential the narrowest set of permissions required, denying everything else by default.

For agents, that means a task gets access only to the specific tools and data it needs, scoped to a purpose and a time window, which shrinks the blast radius of an error or an injection attack.
